Rumor Roundup: Possible Change At The Royal Rumble, How Daniel Bryan Views Himself, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Why Wrestlemania 24 Was Pulled From The WWE Network

News broke over the past few days that Wrestlemania 24 has been pulled from the WWE Network.

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, the event was pulled due to a likely music rights issue. Here is what Johnson wrote:

Several readers have written to PWInsider pointing out that over the last several days the WWE Network has pulled WrestleMania 24 from its list of available shows.

In the past when similar things have happened, it is usually due to a musical rights issue, potentially music rights that WWE held coming to a contractual end.

It is most likely WWE has pulled the show to re-edit a segment with new music and will have it back available for streaming when that process is completed.

My Take:

  • After looking more into it, it appears as if this was pulled because of Floyd Mayweather’s entrance theme for his match against The Big Show.

4) How Daniel Bryan Views Himself

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Daniel Bryan thinks that he has lost a step inside of the ring. This comes after the rumors that Bryan is pushing hard for more NXT call-ups on Smackdown.

Here is what Meltzer said:

“He thinks that he has lost his step and that wrestling isn’t his full-time job anymore even though it is. He thinks that his full-time job now is being a dad and he loves being a dad more than anything in the word and god bless him, and he’s a minimalist and he doesn’t need giant money and he can make money; and he’s got a contract and everyone in the organization probably likes him. He will probably be there for a long time, and if he doesn’t like it there; there’s plenty of places he can go anywhere in the world. If he really wants to and quench his wrestling bug and get with a new group of people, whatever.”

“He just feels like they should be bringing young cool guys in and he’s a 40-year-old dad, that’s how he sees himself.”

My Take:

  • I don’t think that Daniel has lost a step. Selfishly, I want him to keep wrestling for a few more years as there are still a ton of dream matches waiting for him. Still, he has to do what is best for him.
