Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Taya Valkyrie’s New WWE Name
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Taya Valkyrie’s new name in WWE appears to be Franky Monet. This comes after a recent trademark filing by WWE.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
Last night’s vignettes featuring “Franky” point to the likely debut of former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie on Tuesday 4/14 on WWE NXT. The dog used in the vignettes is owned by Taya and John Morrison.
WWE filed a trademark back in February for the name Franky Monet, so that appears to be her new ring name.
My Take:
- I am excited to see how she does in NXT. I could see her getting fast-tracked to the main roster and eventually joining up with The Miz and John Morrison. I am excited to see what happens.
4) Why Titus Is Being Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame This Year
Titus O’Neil will be this year’s recipient of the Warrior Award at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), these plans were in place prior to the passing of Shad Gaspard (who many people feel should receive the award at some point).
Titus is being inducted this year due to his strong connection to the Tampa Bay community:
Those plans were in order well before Gaspard’s death, and Titus’ induction was not a sleight on Gaspard. O’Neill’s connection to the Tampa community played a big role in the timing of the past two years.
My Take:
- This makes a ton of sense. They can do Shad next year, when there are hopefully fans in attendance.
