1) Sasha Bank’s Absence
Sasha Banks made her return to WWE on this week’s episode of Smackdown. Fans haven’t seen her since her loss at Wrestlemania 37 to Bianca Belair.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Sasha was gone because she was filming material for her character in Star Wars, Koska Reeves. Here is what Johnson wrote:
The belief, although never officially announced, is that Banks had been off from WWE in order to film material as Koska Reeves, her Star Wars character, for future Disney+ Lucasfilm series. Banks, billed under her real name Mercedes Varnado, made several appearances in the second season of The Mandalorian, throwing down with Boba Fett among other characters. The first-ever Koska Reeves action figure is slated to be released this year.
My Take:
- As a Star Wars fan, it is cool that Sasha is going to be sticking around future projects. As a WWE fan, I am thrilled to have her back on Smackdown.
