Rumor Roundup: Surprising Match Planned For Wrestlemania 38, Why Cesaro Left WWE, More

3) Backstage Note On Brock Lesnar In The Elimination Chamber Match

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided some details about Brock Lesnar entering the Elimination Chamber match early.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

“At the 9:20 mark of the match, the idea was that Lashley’s pod would be opened since it was his time, but he wasn’t there. Lesnar obviously knew Lashley was going to be taken out and not in the match. But he didn’t know they were going to signal for Lashley’s pod to open and it not be Lesnar’s, as he figured he was next. He also knew that they were running low on time and had a hard out when the show had to be over. Lesnar thought it was a mistake and that his pod was supposed to open, so physically broke out of it and then destroyed everyone.”

My Take:

  • The men’s match was fun, so I think it all worked out. Just made Brock look like even more of a badass.

2) Backstage Note On The Wrestlemania 38 Card

According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE has still not locked in their complete plans for the card at Wrestlemania 38.

Here is what the account Tweeted:

We are roughly 5 weeks out & I’m told the WM card is still very fluid. Hence the reason for the vague Edge promo, the 2 week delay on the tag title match & the MSG title defense for Brock. Creative is leaving a ton of space in nearly every storyline to allow major flexibility.

My Take:

  • WWE loves leaving things to the last minute.
