Rumor Roundup: The Original Plans For Braun At Wrestlemania 36, Why WWE Turned Asuka Babyface, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Why WWE Turned Asuka Babyface

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about Asuka’s recent babyface turn on RAW.

Meltzer says that Asuka was turned because the company wants a babyface champion right now to feud with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

“I asked about the turn and I was told that the Asuka and Sane turn was not something in the plans but it was necessary because they want a babyface champion right now with names like Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax in line for title matches in the coming months.”

My Take:

  • This makes sense now that Becky Lynch is gone. I think that Asuka’s moment with Becky on RAW last week is really going to help her with the turn. Fans have been talking about how great of a moment it was and how genuine that Asuka’s reaction was. I think that she is going to do well.

4) Why Rachael Evers Was Released By WWE

It was recently revealed that Rachael Ellering (aka Rachael Evers) was released by WWE. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer alleges that Ellering was fired after complaining about the WWE medical team.

Here is what Meltzer wrote about the situation:

A few months ago she spoke to the company about having issues with the medical team and medical procedures. She was rehabbing after reconstructive knee surgery. Her complaints were not received well and a few weeks ago she was given two options, both of which essentially were that she was getting released. She chose one of them and was then released. There was a time when she was interested in leaving but this was a company decision

My Take:

  • I was surprised when Rachael was released by WWE as I thought she had a bright future with the company. I wish her the best and am excited to see where she ends up next.
