Rumor Roundup: The Original Plans For Sasha Banks, New Member Joining Seth Rollins’ Faction? More

1) The Original Plans For Sasha Banks

According to Wrestletalk, WWE was originally planning on doing Sasha Banks vs Bayley at Summerslam. The site also says that WWE is planning to delay the feud as they don’t want to rush the storyline.

Here is an excerpt from the report about the plans for Sasha:

Despite the match not happening yet, our sources have told us that for the past few months, WWE has been planning on having Banks and Bayley go one-on-one at SummerSlam in August 2020. WrestleTalk has learned that WWE wants to extend the feud, and sees more potential in drawing it out as opposed to rushing it.

We’ve also been told that part of the reason for delaying Banks and Bayley’s match is because of the location that SummerSlam was set to take place. Before Coronavirus, SummerSlam was slated for Boston, where Banks grew up and began wrestling. WWE thought that having Banks vs. Bayley in Boston would have generated the best reaction for Sasha, who would have been the face in the match.

The report also claims that WWE is now looking for other options for the Smackdown Women’s Title match at Summerslam:

Whether this means WWE changes their plans remains to be seen, and our sources have said that while the match isn’t completely off the table right now, the company is considering other options for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the show.

My Take:

  • I am actually okay with this. If WWE is going to do Sasha Banks vs Bayley, I would love to see it delayed until Wrestlemania 37. That should be the moment where Sasha finally wins the belt and gets her first win at Wrestlemania.
