Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Backstage Note On Kevin Owens’ Future
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Kevin Owens’ contract with WWE will be expiring after the Royal Rumble PPV.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
“This allows them to stretch the feud out between Big E and Seth Rollins, because Kevin Owens can get pinned and they can keep the feud going. Because on that side, as long as Big E is a babyface champion its gonna be tough to put Edge in there — I mean, who is there other than Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens, and Kevin Owens we don’t know how long Kevin Owens is gonna be there. His contract is coming up at the end of January after the Royal Rumble, and then he’ll have a decision to make.”
My Take:
- Owens has a relationship with guys like Adam Cole and the Young Bucks. I could see him leaving WWE but we will have to wait and see.
4) Backstage Note On RAW This Week
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, there were a few RAW segments that were cut for time this week after two segments ran long. This would be the segment involving The Miz and Edge. This would also be the contract signing involving Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
There were a few segments that had time cut last night after the early contract signing and Edge-Miz segments ran a bit long.
My Take:
- Always interesting to hear the inner workings of segments and what went longer than expected. Both of these make a lot of sense when thinking back on them.
