Rumor Roundup: The Plans For Alexa Bliss, Major WWE PPV Planned, More

3) More On WWE’s Plans For 2022

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Twitter, WWE is planning eight stadium shows around the World next year.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

WWE is planning up to eight nights of stadium shows globally next year

My Take:

  • This is exciting. UK seems like it will be one. Same with Saudi Arabia as WWE usually does 1 or 2 shows there. We will have to wait and see where else.

2) Fox Is Disappointed With Smackdown’s Ratings

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Fox is disappointed with Smackdown’s ratings based on their original expectations.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

A source from Fox reportedly “admitted that the WWE viewership was disappointing in comparison to expectations.” It was also stated that the nature of the pandemic makes things harder to gauge where the viewership and ratings numbers will “level out.”

Fox is also not “over the moon” about WWE promoting Peacock on their network. Peacock is owned by NBCU, a competitor of Fox. It should be noted that Fox and WWE sources noted that it hasn’t been an issue.

My Take:

  • Smackdown has been a quality show, so hopefully they can grow the viewership after the draft.
