Rumor Roundup: The Plans For Dominik’s Debut Match, WWE’s Plan For Stone Cold, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) WWE Not Worried About Kairi Sane Going To AEW

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), there are no concerns in WWE that Kairi Sane will go and wrestle for another promotion in the United States.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

In another update on Kairi Sane, we’re told that even though rumors of her departure have been swirling for months, this was the original end date for her. As mentioned, WWE wanted to keep her on board in some capacity, but Kairi let it be known months ago that she wanted to return to Japan to be with her husband. We’re told there were no concerns of her wrestling elsewhere in America, but that there were big pushes to have her involved from a coaching or teaching aspect in Japan.

My Take:

  • WWE is smart to lock down Kairi in a different role as she would have been a massive get for AEW and their women’s division.

4) WWE’s Plan For Stone Cold Steve Austin

According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE has some upcoming plans for Stone Cold Steve Austin. The company plans to honor Stone Cold with a 25th-anniversary celebration. This would be similar to what they did with Triple H back in April.

WWE is also planning to bring back Austin for a live appearance once crowds are able to return. Here is what the account Tweeted:

WWE has plans to honor Stone Cold Steve Austin in a similar way to the 25th anniversary celebration for Triple H that has been ongoing with a slew of new merchandise as well as a live appearance once audiences return.

My Take:

  • It would be smart for WWE to try and bring back guys like Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena. With ratings slumping, they could use some bigger names to get more fans to tune in. While saying that, this isn’t a great long-term strategy for ratings since they should be building new stars so they don’t have to rely on old names.
