Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) The Location Of Summerslam
It was reported this week that Summerslam will be taking place on Saturday, August 21st. This is a big change as WWE PPV events typically take place on Sundays.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, Summerslam will be taking place in Las Vegas. Here is what he Tweeted:
According to a very reliable source SummerSlam will take place on Saturday 8/21 in Vegas. This source has been a home run with a few things regarding SummerSlam and I’m confident he is correct.
My Take:
- Zarian was first to break the news of the show being on Saturday, so Vegas seems very likely.
4) WWE In Talks To Work With NJPW
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is in talks to work with New Japan Pro Wrestling. This has to do with a possible working relationship between the two promotions. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
“In what could end up being among the biggest wrestling stories of the year, or a non-story, depending on the end result, Nick Khan has been in talks with New Japan Pro Wrestling about WWE being the exclusive American partner with the promotion.
Meltzer also added that it is unclear where the talks currently stand:
“There are no indications where talks are at past they date back to late March or early April. But it would include WWE sending talent and WWE top stars being allowed to work in New Japan if talks go anywhere,”
My Take:
- This would be massive if it happens. I have doubts that it will come to fruition but it is an exciting possibility for WWE fans.
