Rumor Roundup: The Plans For The Hell In A Cell Matches, WWE Interested In AEW Star, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) WWE Interested In AEW Star

According to journalist Tom Colohue, WWE has an interest in signing Lance Archer, who is currently signed to AEW.

Here is what Colohue wrote:

“When it comes to people who are going to be attracted by WWE money, it’s hard to say. When it comes to people WWE are interested in, Lance Archer is definitely someone the WWE have high interest in. They really would like to bring him over from AEW to WWE. There are other people, but I think Lance Archer is one of the favorites at the moment.”

My Take:

  • I am not sure if he will make the jump but if true, this is great news for Archer and his next contract. Either way, he is likely getting a raise on his next deal.

4) Brock Lesnar’s Next Match

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is likely that Brock Lesnar’s next match will come at Wrestlemania 37.

The current match being discussed for Brock is a rematch against Drew McIntyre. Here is what Meltzer wrote:

It was said that for Lesnar, like for Tyson Fury (who issued a challenge to Drew McIntyre this past week for a match), that it’s at this point Saudi Arabia and WrestleMania as the only shows that make sense right now and the belief right now is Saudi Arabia won’t happen this year. Lesnar’s name had been talked about in WWE in reference to a Drew McIntyre rematch for this coming WrestleMania, but that was if McIntyre was to retain the title, which has also been considered to go to Randy Orton, who in theory would be earmarked for Edge and not Lesnar.

My Take:

  • I want to see Brock Lesnar vs Keith Lee at some point. That would be the match I would book for Wrestlemania 37. Brock vs Bobby Lashley would be another fun option.
