Rumor Roundup: The Plans For Wrestlemania 38, New WWE Superstar Names, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Note On The Talks Between WWE & NJPW

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the rumors of WWE and NJPW possibly working together. Meltzer noted that something is indeed going on between the two promotions and it isn’t just a silly rumor making the rounds. While saying that, we don’t know how serious the talks are as of yet.

Here is what he said:

“Something is going on. I don’t know how deep it is. I don’t know if it’s going to be, I don’t know if it’s going to be finalized. Obviously AEW doesn’t want it to happen. Obviously Impact doesn’t want it to happen. New Japan, you know, I mean New Japan is in a weird state right now. This isn’t the first time that calls were made to New Japan, I mean WWE has tried to work with other companies in Japan and they’ve tried to buy many different companies in Japan and they did not succeed in doing so. It’s difficult to do in Japan. The Japanese companies don’t want to sell to an American company.”

My Take:

  • I think it would be cool if something happens but I am not holding my breathe.

4) Update On WWE’s Vaccination Policy

Jerry Lawler provided some insight into WWE’s vaccination policy this weekend. He says that WWE does not force any employees to get the vaccine. If you are fully vaccinated though, the company provides some perks, including not needing to wear a mask at events.

Here is what Lawler Tweeted:

1st let me comment on some of the comments after this tweet of mine. The WWE has the same covid policy as MLB. If you’re fully vaccinated, you’re good to go. If not, you must still wear a mask at the event and be tested before an event.

In trying to be brief, my earlier tweet may have given the wrong impression. WWE never forces anyone to be vaccinated. Their new policy is, if you’re fully vaccinated you no longer have to be tested or wear a mask at events. I hate the masks! I love the new WWE policy!

My Take:

  • This makes sense as Lawler’s original Tweet made it seem like WWE was forcing every employee to get the vaccine. That is not the case.
