Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Update On The Rumors Of Backstage Heat Between Matt Riddle & Seth Rollins
Over the past year or so, there were rumors going around that there was some backstage heat between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle. This came after Riddle’s wife made some comments towards Becky Lynch on Instagram. During a WWE Watch Along, Rollins said the following about Riddle:
“I’ve got no interest in facing Matt Riddle at any point in my career, so he can go to Raw as far as I’m concerned.”
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), it appears as if any beef between Rollins and Riddle has been squashed. Here is what Sapp wrote:
We spoke to numerous people who were backstage at WWE Survivor Series, who said that it seemed as if the two had squashed the issue between them.
My Take:
- Good to hear that they were able to put it behind them. I would love to see them face off at some point.
4) Speculation On The Plans For Adam Pearce At The Royal Rumble
On this week’s episode of Smackdown, it was officially confirmed that Adam Pearce will be facing Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble. This comes after Pearce won the gauntlet match after receiving help from Roman and Jey Uso.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that Pearce vs Reigns will be changing to Owens vs Reigns. Here is what he said (h/t to Ringside News):
“It’s possible that they’ll change it back to Kevin Owens because it seems like a strange match to make; because if they do that it pretty much tells you that they literally have no ideas at all. I’m not ruling out that they’ll go back to Kevin Owens.”
My Take:
- In my Royal Rumble predictions, I have Shinsuke Nakamura taking the place of Adam Pearce. Owens would be another guy who makes sense though.
