Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Why Sami Zayn Has Been Absent From Smackdown
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided a reason why Sami Zayn has missed the past two episodes of Smackdown.
Meltzer says that Zayn has made the personal decision to not appear on episodes because of the coronavirus pandemic:
The reason Zayn wasn’t on SmackDown this past week with Nakamura & Cesaro is that he made the choice not to come which everyone was told they had that option to do. He was originally part of the show
My Take:
- This does make sense. I was confused as to why Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro were helping out King Corbin on Smackdown. Now we know.
4) Title Match Scrapped From Money In The Bank
WWE has updated the poster for the Money in the Bank PPV. A noticeable change from the last poster is that Charlotte Flair has been removed.
Charlotte was originally on the poster and this led to speculation that she could be facing Io Shirai at the Money in the Bank PPV. WWE has changed those plans and has taken Charlotte off the poster to reflect that:
My Take:
- I am fine with Charlotte vs Io not happening at Money in the Bank. There was no storyline build on RAW, which is what would have had to happen for the match to take place at Money in the Bank.
