Rumor Roundup: Update On The WWE Plans For John Cena, Brock Lesnar’s Status, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Update On Brock Lesnar

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, WWE is trying to get Brock Lesnar to commit to returning for live shows. It was also noted that plans for Brock to return at Summerslam did not work out.

Here is what Zarian said:

“They wanted Brock. For whatever reason, the plan didn’t work out. I believe it was creative-wise, it just wasn’t fitting. Financially, they want Brock to commit to live shows. They are working it out, it’s gonna happen. It’s not that it’s not gonna happen, it’s gonna happen unless something goes tremendously terrible, which I don’t think it will. I think we’re gonna see Brock, I just don’t think he’s needed for SummerSlam if they have this planned out already. If Brock calls them and says ‘hey I wanna do it’ then yea, they’re gonna figure it out. I don’t believe Brock’s gonna be on there…I don’t know about Brock right now. I know that he’s in the plans. They’re gonna do something with him, I just don’t know what yet.”

My Take:

  • Brock vs Lashley and Brock vs Reigns are two easy feuds for WWE to do when he returns. I am interested to see which route that they decide to go.

4) The Next WWE PPV Event After Summerslam

WWE.com has now officially confirmed the next PPV event that will take place after Summerslam. That PPV event will be Extreme Rules.

It will be taking place on September 26th in Columbus.

– Sunday, September 26: Extreme Rules – Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH

My Take:

  • Extreme Rules always seems to be a decent PPV. No complaints on my end.
