Rumor Roundup: Update On The WWE Plans For John Cena, Brock Lesnar’s Status, More

3) Note On Buddy Murphy’s Release

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Murphy has confirmed to him that WWE called him in a panic to check on his non-compete clause. This comes after a paperwork mistake allowed for Aleister Black to get released earlier than usual.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

He confirmed that his non-compete is 90 days, but that WWE called him in a panic after his release, thinking that his might also be 30 as a result of what happened with the former Aleister Black.

My Take:

  • This means that wrestling fans will have to wait a bit longer to see where Murphy ends up going. My guess would be AEW but you never know.

2) Moose Confirms WWE Rumors

Moose was recently a guest on the Mina’s House Podcast. During this, he confirmed the rumors that WWE had interest in signing him before he decided to stay with IMPACT.

Moose also kept the door open to work with WWE in the future. Here is what he said:

“Never say never, right? I’ve had chances to go (to WWE) and had an opportunity to go there not too long ago, but turned it down to stay with IMPACT. I am staying (with IMPACT). I signed a new deal and I’m staying. I had an opportunity to leave to go to WWE, but I just felt like, right now, IMPACT was better for me with what they offered and the schedule and how I’m being used. We’ll see what happens with WWE in the next couple of years.

My Take:

  • I am surprised that Moose turned down the offer from WWE. Good for him though and I am sure WWE will still be interested down the road.
