Rumor Roundup: What Vince McMahon Told Andrade, Additional WWE Releases Coming, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) More WWE Releases Coming & Details On Cain Velasquez Being Let Go

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), there are more names that have been released by WWE but haven’t been publically announced.

Sapp also says that Cain Velasquez’s contract with WWE was supposed to go until 2022. Here is what he wrote:

“The word of Cain Velasquez’s release came this week, and there are other names that have been cut that WWE didn’t publicly announce. Everyone we’ve talked to at the WWE Performance Center and in WWE said Velasquez was very nice and respectful when he was around. His deal was scheduled to go into the fall of 2022.”

My Take:

  • It will be interesting to see if any more names do come out over the next few days. Cain Velasquez took me by surprise as I figured they would have announced him during the original cuts and not waited.

4) Another UFC Star Open To A Possible WWE Career

Current UFC Champion, Amanda Nunes, was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated. During this, Nunes said that she was open to a possible WWE career after she is done fighting. Here is what she said:

“Not right now, but maybe later when I retire. I’m open to it. Why not? I could try something new.”

Nunes is the reigning champion of the UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight divisions. She has also beaten both Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler inside of the octagon.

My Take:

  • Amanda is an absolute badass and one of my favorite fighters to watch. I don’t know if she has the natural charisma though to do something in WWE but you never know.
