Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Brock Lesnar To Use AEW As Leverage
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the belief is that Brock Lesnar will use AEW as leverage in his contract negotiations with WWE.
While saying that, it is not expected that Brock will leave WWE. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
“One person in the company noted that it makes no sense to sign Lesnar to a new deal at the moment, as it would only be to keep him from AEW. The belief is Lesnar could, and probably would try to use AEW as leverage, but that at the end of the day, the belief is Lesnar’s value to AEW would be nowhere near his price tag and a deal with Lesnar makes no sense for a company basically trying to just break even during the pandemic”.
My Take:
- Brock Lesnar in AEW would actually be amazing. Imagine Brock vs Jungle Boy? I would be shocked if we ever see him leave WWE though.
4) Fear Among WWE Superstars
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, there is a fear among some talent that WWE will start taking cuts of their Twitch and/or Cameo accounts. This comes after it was reported that WWE has banned Superstars from using third-party platforms.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
There is a fear among some talents that should they not shut down Twitch or Cameo, that the company might request a portion of those earnings. PWInsider.com has not been able to confirm whether those fears are valid.
My Take:
- This is a messy situation all around and I am sure that a lot of Superstars are upset.
