Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Possible NXT Title Change
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, the rumor going around is that Raquel Gonzalez will be winning the NXT Women’s Championship from Io Shirai.
Here is what Alvarez said:
“I don’t know who’s gonna win the title and plans change all the time in NXT. I heard months ago that Raquel is probably the one who is going to beat Io Shirai.”
My Take:
- I could see this happening. Shirai has had a lengthy title reign and it seems like it is Raquel’s time to shine. Maybe this will mean Shirai will be moving to the main roster after Wrestlemania? We will have to wait and see.
4) New WWE Faction?
In some trademarking news, WWE recently filed to trademark the term “Subculture.” Here is what the filing is for:
Mark For: SUBCULTURE trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
Fan speculation is that this could be for some sort of new faction in WWE.
My Take:
- After what happened with Retribution, I am not confident in any factions that WWE puts together. We will have to wait and see though I guess.
