Rumor Roundup: WWE Bringing Back Old Belt For Storyline, More WWE Releases Coming? More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Backstage Note On WWE Returning To Touring (Part 1)

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, WWE kept things quiet about their return to live events. There were some informal discussions backstage but the entire locker room found out the concrete plans with the rest of the public (when the press release came out).

Here is what Johnson wrote:

When WWE announced their plans to return to the road yesterday, it was and wasn’t a surprise to their talents.  While talents were not given the heads up on the announcement or dates, it had been informally passed along in recent weeks that plans to return to the road would be forthcoming in the near future.

We are told that the company kept plans extremely close to the vest until they were announced via a press release in order to prevent leaks but also because things could have changed at any moment due to the pandemic.

My Take:

  • I am not really sure why WWE would care about this type of news spreading before they announce it. I guess they don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up but still. Doesn’t seem to me like something that they needed to keep as a big secret.

4) Backstage Note On WWE Returning To Touring (Part 2)

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, all of these upcoming live events will be taking place in cities that have relaxed their rules for COVID-19.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

It is expected that many, if not all of the events, will take place in markets where COVID-19 safety rules have started to become more relaxed.  The Southwest and Florida seem most likely for future events, but we’ve heard Iowa and Pennsylvania have been bandied about as well.

My Take:

  • This makes sense. There are multiple states that have opened up and they might as well use those for their shows.
