5) Possible WWE Main Roster Call-Ups
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, four Superstars were backstage at the latest episode of Smackdown. These are hints that the Superstars are being considered for possible call-ups to the WWE main roster.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
PWInsider.com has confirmed the following WWE NXT stars are backstage at Smackdown in Houston, Texas:
*Aaliyah.
*Xia Li.
*Austin Theory.
*Odyssey Jones.
My Take:
- The interesting name to me is Austin Theory. Could he be heading back to the main roster?
4) More On WWE Calling Up A Lot Of New Talent
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided some additional details about the number of call-ups from NXT as of late.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
One person close to the situation noted exactly that, when the advances came in, Vince assessed it by saying there was nobody new, fresh or exciting on the roster and that’s when he went to NXT with the idea of freshening up the roster with new faces who would be pushed hard right out of the box (or until he gives up on some of them quickly.
My Take:
- I love seeing fresh faces. The key here is making sure that they are booked properly and don’t get lost in the shuffle. That seems to be what WWE struggles with the most.
