Rumor Roundup: WWE’s Original Plan For The MITB Briefcase, The Undertaker’s Future, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) The Undertaker’s Future

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Undertaker signed a 15-year contract with WWE in 2019.

This means that he will be under contract with the company until 2034.

My Take:

  • Before everybody freaks out, this doesn’t mean that he will be wrestling for these 15 years. It likely means a legends contract where he will be paid a nice salary from WWE. My guess is that this is Vince McMahon’s way to say thank you for everything that ‘Taker has done for him.

4) USA Network Unhappy About The Status Of The 24/7 Title.

According to journalist Tom Colohue, the USA Network is unhappy that WWE put the 24/7 Championship on Rob Gronkowski.

This is because it was the USA Network’s idea to create the title in the first place and they are not getting the benefit of utilizing it on RAW:

Additionally, certain network executives are unhappy with the limited use of the 24/7 title that they themselves helmed the creation of, now that it is both single-branded and in the possession of someone who is not on TV and could possibly not be making a return at all.

My Take:

  • I actually don’t blame the USA Network on this one. The 24/7 Title has basically become dead since Gronk took it over. I did enjoy the weekly segments, even if most were silly. That might just be me though.
