It all began with a tweet from Dave Meltzer about the WWE contacting older stars to return to the company for the 2016 brand split. With RAW and Smackdown going separate next month, the WWE is going to need a lot of bodies to fill the rosters.

We recently posted about the rumors of potential NXT call ups, but it looks like the WWE has realized they need some more experience to balance it out.
Here was the original tweet that got the speculation going:
WWE just realized they have to fill two rosters, calling lots of 40+ year old guys to return for the new era.

According to Dave on the recent Wrestling Observer Radio, the rumored older names are Carlito, MVP and Stevie Richards. These guys have reportedly been contacted by the WWE for a potential return along with several others (who he didn’t want to name).
Some people have speculated that the WWE has reached out to Matt and Jeff Hardy along with Rey Mysterio for a WWE return. This is only speculation though as all of them are currently under contract.
Carlito could fit in with his brother and cousin in the Shining Stars. I saw someone mention MVP could be used as a manager/ mouthpiece for Apollo Crews. Stevie Richards is completely out of left field.
