Sami Zayn Comments On His Lack Of Success So Far On WWE’s Main Roster

Sami Zayn was recently interviewed by The Whig. He spoke on a wide variety of topics about his wrestling career, past and present. One of the most interesting parts was when he spoke about the lack of success that he has had so far on WWE’s main roster.

Zayn has been on the main roster now for about a year. Some fans often think that Sami is being underutilized on the RAW roster and would love to see him over on the blue brand. They also complain about Zayn losing a large majority of his matches.

Zayn says that he isn’t fazed by his perceived lack of success so far. Here is what he had to say:

“I see sometimes the fans make a much bigger deal of these losses than I personally do, because you can’t win them all, you just can’t. You do your best and that’s it. You lose a few here or there. You’ve just got to be good at forgetting those losses or using them as motivation to drive yourself forward. It doesn’t really stop my momentum”

He continued, saying that he is happy where he is right now:

“I think I’m in a good place right now, and I feel like I’m just on the cusp of doing something really good or really breaking out to that next level. I feel like I’m just outside the bubble. Testing myself against guys like Braun Strowman or Samoa Joe are really what I think is going to take me to the next level. I don’t look at these losses in any way as a defeat. I use them as motivation if anything or I just move forward.”

  1. He’s right. Success on the main roster is not limited to winning matches. It starts with consistently getting the opportunity to be on TV and showing enough skill in the ring and charisma on the mic to be booked in high profile programs. Sami had a great feud with Kevin Owens, followed that up with a fantastic feud with Braun Strowman and now finds himself in a program with Samoa Joe and the new Authority. Bo Dallas or The Vaudevillians would KILL to be “underutilized” like Sami Zayn.
