September 13th Smackdown Live Neck and Neck With RAW Viewership This Week

The September 13th Smackdown LIVE featured fallout from their first brand exclusive PPV: Backlash. We saw Alexa Bliss become the number one contender for Becky Lynch’s new Smackdown Women’s Title. We saw Heath Slater sign his contract and defend his newly won Smackdown Tag Titles (with Rhyno) against The Ascension. We also got to see the man, the myth, the legend: James Ellsworth return to WWE TV! How were the viewership numbers?

According to ShowbuzzDaily.com, The September 13th Smackdown LIVE episode drew 2.66 million viewers. This is up from last weeks show that did 2.45 million viewers. The impressive thing is, they were neck and neck with RAW, which only drew 2.69 million viewers this week.

RAW was dealing with the beginning of Monday Night Football but it still lets you know that Smackdown LIVE is slowly gaining on them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to pass RAW in the next couple weeks. It always seems like Smackdown puts on quality shows and 2 hours is just perfect.

RAW is a 3 hour show and hopes the Cruiserweight division coming next week will help them pull away in the viewership battle. I know the WWE owns both brands but it is fun to see a bit of a viewership battle week to week.

  1. A 2 hour show makes a difference. I know Raw is gonna have Cruiserweights now but its not gonna make an impact. Its gonna be good face paced wrestling but viewership wise, its not gonna make a difference.
