September 6th Smackdown LIVE Suffers Big Viewership Drop

As we noted prior, this weeks RAW took a big hit in viewership numbers, dropping almost 17% from the week prior. It looks like the September 6th Smackdown followed suit, suffering a similar ratings drop. This weeks show featured two semi-finals matches in the Smackdown Tag Team Tournament along with building towards Backlash this Sunday.

According to Wrestling Inc, the September 6th Smackdown drew 2.454 million viewers. This is down  13% from last weeks show that drew 2.835 million. This also marks a low for Smackdown since the show went live back in July.

With both RAW and Smackdown not doing well this week, it raises concerns heading into football season. Hopefully the WWE is able to put on some strong shows and keep their audience moving forward. Backlash is this Sunday and hopefully fans tune in and support the first blue brand PPV!
