Shinsuke Nakamura recently participated in a press event with the Japanese media. During the interview he spoke about his first year with the WWE. One of the highlights was when we talked about AJ Styles not having an opponent for Wrestlemania 33.

Styles and Nakamura faced off before in New Japan Pro Wrestling at their Wrestle Kingdom event. The match was widely praised and the two displayed some great in-ring chemistry. Many fans have been desiring this match at Wrestlemania 33 but it seems like only fantasy-booking at this point.
AJ currently is rumored to be facing off against Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania 33. Nakamura is still with the NXT brand. Nakamura says that he wants the AJ Styles match at Wrestlemania:

“If the (Wrestlemania) opportunity presented itself, I want to do it. AJ doesn’t have an opponent yet, I’d like to fill that spot”
Nakamura also says that he hasn’t shown his full potential in WWE so far:
“I’ve achieved a lot this year, but there’s much more to do. I want to make more strides over the next year and show my true ability”
