Shinsuke Nakamura Explains Why He Turned Down An Offer From The UFC & If He Wants To Fight Again

You might not know that Shinsuke Nakamura has dabbled into the world of Mixed Martial Arts. He holds a professional record of 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 No Contest. The last time that he fought was back in 2004.

Shinsuke Nakamura was recently interviewed by the ‘Hindustan Times’. He revealed during the interview that he actually turned down an offer from the UFC at one point.

Here is why he turned it down:

“Around 2005, UFC offered me a chance to fight for them. But, at that moment, I was under contract with NJPW and I decided to stay in pro-wrestling. It was a good opportunity, but I don’t regret my choice.”

He also says he has no interest in fighting anymore due to his age and being happy in WWE:

“You have to understand that I am 37-year old now. It has been a long time since my last proper MMA training and although I still train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, it will take me at least one year to be ready for a proper fight. That is not something I want to do as I am happy in WWE.”
