Slammy Awards 2016 Reportedly Not Happening

Many people have been wondering when the annual Slammy Awards will take place. The show usually happens sometime in December but has no set date. We have an update on the status of the Slammy Awards 2016 and it is not good news for fans of the show.

Seems weird that we are already in the middle of December and there hasn’t been anything announced. The show is usually a special edition of RAW.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com there are currently no plans by the WWE to have a Slammy Awards show this year. It is unclear why but Johnson’s sources say that the idea could be revived sometime in 2017.

There should be a mixed reaction to this news. Some fans loved the Slammy Awards and looked forward to it every year. Others thought the idea was stupid and wasted an episode of RAW where nothing of substance happens.

If you are interested, we have put together 13 awards that we are giving out for 2016. If IWNerd.com were giving out Slammy Awards, this is who would win!

Let us know what you think in the comment section below. Are you upset that there will be no Slammy Awards 2016?

Maybe WWE decided they didn’t want to waste an episode of RAW or Smackdown Live???

  1. This is a major fail by the WWE to not have Slammy Awards this year. Will they EVER do what’s right, while continuing to do what’s wrong?
