15 Things That We Learned From Smackdown Live – May 2, 2017

1) Randy Orton Finally Got His Title Back

This weeks episode of Smackdown Live kicked off with Jinder Mahal, who was getting some photos taken with the WWE Championship. The same title that he stole from Randy Orton last week.

He was interrupted by Shane McMahon, who told him that titles are earned on Smackdown Live. Shane took the title from him and told him that he would be returning it to the rightful owner: Randy Orton.

Jinder will have a chance to win the title for real at Backlash. This also confirms (to me at least) that WWE only had him steal the title to avoid answering questions about why the WWE Title wasn’t on the line in the House of Horrors match…

2) Y2AJ Reunion!

Shane McMahon came to the ring to introduce the newest member of the Smackdown Live roster: Chris Jericho. Jericho is now a member of the blue brand after defeating Kevin Owens at Payback.

Jericho was immediately interrupted by AJ Styles. Fans will remember their brief partnership in 2016, forming the tag team: Y2AJ! The team broke up very quickly and they eventually faced off at Wrestlemania 32.

A reunion for the ages! One of the greatest tag teams of all time!
