News broke prior to Smackdown Live that Shinsuke Nakamura was injured and had been pulled from his U.S Title match against Jeff Hardy. It was revealed that Nakamura was bitten by a police dog during WWE’s live event in Bakersfield.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that a law enforcement dog was being brought around the arena in Bakersfield as part of a pre-show security check. The dog was brought past Nakamura during the check.
Johnson says that the dog sniffed Nakamura and then proceeded to bite him on the leg. This was without any provocation from Nakamura.
Nakamura was pulled from the live event that night and was also not medically cleared for Smackdown. Johnson says that Nakamura was backstage for the episode this week and his leg is said to still be very sore from what happened.
