Samoa Joe reclaimed the United States Championship on RAW this week. Rey Mysterio was forced to relinquish the belt due to injury and ended up giving it back to Joe.
With Mysterio injured, Samoa Joe is going to need a new feud for his United States Championship.
I wanted to share my speculation about what I think will be next for Joe and the Title after Super Showdown.
My guess is that WWE is going to have Joe start feuding with both Cesaro and Ricochet. Both Cesaro and Ricochet have been trading wins over the past few weeks but WWE has made it clear that the feud isn’t over yet.
With only a few weeks in between WWE Super Showdown and WWE Stomping Grounds, I think that it makes sense for Joe to get involved in an already established feud. That way, there is limited storyline development needed. All they would have to do is have Joe attack Ricochet and Cesaro during their match next week to set it into motion.
This would give fans a fun triple threat match for WWE Stomping Grounds. I don’t know about anybody else but I would love to see Joe vs Ricochet vs Cesaro. Plus, it seems easy for WWE to set up with the short turnaround time heading into Stomping Grounds.
