‘The Great American Bash’ episode of NXT will feature a match between Sasha Banks and Io Shirai. Excitement is very high for this one as it is a dream match for many fans. I wanted to share my speculation on what will happen during this match on Wednesday night. Specifically, how WWE will book it.
I want to start by saying that I think this will be a really good match. It has a chance to be one of the best women’s matches of the year and I am excited to see them tear down the house. It should be really, really good.
My gut says that this match is going to have a screwy finish though. That will likely mean Bayley interfering in the match to cause a disqualification. I know that a lot of fans dislike disqualification finishes but I think it makes sense here to protect both Sasha and Io. This would save the rematch for a PPV down the road. It would also set up a really fun tag team match for next week’s episode of NXT (which will be part two of ‘The Great American Bash’).
That tag team match would be Sasha Banks and Bayley vs Io Shirai and Asuka. That would be a great match and a great addition to the card of week two of ‘The Great American Bash’. Asuka is currently feuding with both Sasha and Bayley, so it would make sense for her to come out and help Shirai. That would be a really good tag team match and I think that fans would love to see it.
That is how I see it going down. Bayley interferes in Sasha vs Io, leading to Asuka coming out and making the save. This leads to Sasha and Bayley vs Asuka and Io. Seems like a win-win for everyone involved.
