Shawn Michaels is officially coming out of retirement after 8 years. It will be Michaels and Triple H vs the Undertaker and Kane at the WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. There are now some rumors that Shawn could be wrestling more than just Crown Jewel. Here is my speculation on the long-term plans for Shawn now that he is out of retirement.
Match 1: Shawn Michaels and Triple H vs Kane and the Undertaker – WWE Crown Jewel (CONFIRMED)
A tag team match allows Shawn to shake some of the rust off since he hasn’t wrestled in 8 years. A nice way for him to ease back into things. My guess is that Shawn pins Kane here.
Match 2: Shawn Michaels vs the Undertaker – Survivor Series
A recent rumor suggests that WWE could be planning this match for the Royal Rumble or Survivor Series. The Undertaker is confirmed for a signing in Los Angeles on Survivor Series weekend, which has led to speculation that he will be wrestling on the Survivor Series card.
WWE was clearly teasing a Shawn vs Undertaker match on RAW a few weeks ago. In my opinion, it would be better for Survivor Series instead of Wrestlemania again. Shawn is comfortable with the Deadman in the ring, so facing him in his first singles match back would be smart.
Match 3: Shawn Michaels vs AJ Styles – Wrestlemania 35
This is only my speculation but I am thinking that if Shawn is going to be wrestling at Crown Jewel and Survivor Series, he will also be penciled in for Wrestlemania 35. I think that this works out great for him. Before Wrestlemania, he gets the chance to shake the rust off in a tag team match and against someone who he is extremely comfortable with inside of the ring. Then, fans get to see a dream match for Shawn at Wrestlemania 35.
My personal guess is that it will be AJ Styles. I think Styles will be dropping the WWE Championship over the next several months and this would be a massive match for him at the event. You could really change Styles here with a variety of other people like Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe etc. Someone who is in the dream category for fans. By this point, Shawn will have shaken off any ring rust and will be able to deliver the best match possible for fans at Wrestlemania.
This is obviously only speculation at the moment as nothing (but the match at Crown Jewel) has been confirmed. This is just how I see it playing out. What do you think will happen? Let me know in the comment section.
