WWE has officially confirmed a fatal 5-way match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 36. It will be Bayley vs Lacey Evans vs Naomi vs Tamina vs Sasha Banks. This will also be an elimination match.
I wanted to share my speculation about what I think will happen in this match and who will win.
My guess is that Sasha and Bayley are going to work together for the majority of the match. I see it coming down to Sasha, Bayley, and Lacey. When it gets down to the final three, I see Lacey eliminating Sasha, with Bayley looking on but not helping Sasha. After this, I see Bayley pinning Lacey to retain her Title.
The important part of what I just said is Bayley looking on but not helping Sasha. The idea here is that Bayley is so paranoid about losing her title, she doesn’t even fully trust Sasha, who is her best friend. Sasha will be pissed about Bayley not helping her, which will put a strain on their relationship. This ultimately plants the seeds for Bayley and Sasha to (slowly) break-up over the next few months.
It would also plant the seeds towards them facing off for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at one of the upcoming PPV events. If it was up to me, I would build towards Sasha vs Bayley at Summerslam in Boston. I would slowly turn Sasha into a babyface in this storyline, which would lead to Sasha winning the Title in her hometown. To me, this is a storyline that WWE shouldn’t rush and this could be a solid route to go.
