It was announced by Shane McMahon that next week on Smackdown Live, Natalya will be defending her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair. This will be only 5 days prior to Survivor Series, where Natalya is scheduled to face Alexa Bliss in a Champion vs Champion match.

Let’s speculate on the future of the title. I see this going one of two ways.
1) Smackdown Live next week takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina. This would be a pretty great spot to have Charlotte win the title in her hometown. She would go to face Alexa Bliss in the Champion vs Champion match at Survivor Series. WWE has been changing up the Survivor Series card as of late and I wouldn’t be surprised if Vince McMahon made another change.
2) Natalya finds a way to retain on Smackdown Live. This wouldn’t be a clean victory, but it would allow for Charlotte to get a rematch at a later date. At Survivor Series, Carmella cashes in her Money in the Bank contract on Natalya. Why you ask? This year is the 20th anniversary of the Montreal Screwjob. Someone from the Hart family getting screwed over again on the anniversary seems like something WWE wouldn’t pass up on.
The WWE Starrcade live event takes place on November 25th in Greensboro, North Carolina. If neither of these options happen, WWE could have Charlotte win the title in Greensboro.
