Over the past few days, the rumor mill has been buzzing about Impact Wrestling stars Bobby Lashley and EC3 potentially jumping to WWE. This came after both were written off Impact Television at their recent taping.
We have a status update on both of them for the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV.
First, a rumor killer on Bobby Lashley as a Royal Rumble surprise:
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Bobby Lashley will be free to sign anywhere on February 1st. That means he won’t be a surprise entrant in the Rumble.
Now, onto some better news:
EC3, on the other hand, is said to be “completely free and clear already”. In an interesting move, he has pulled out of an indie appearance on January 28th for Renegade Wrestling Revolution. That also happens to be the same day as the Royal Rumble.
Certainly looks like EC3 could be a Royal Rumble match surprise. Fans will have to wait a little longer for Lashley if he is, in fact, returning to WWE. That is still unclear though.
