CM Punk made some headlines this week after he had some harsh words for The Miz on Twitter. Punk said, “go suck a blood money covered d**k in Saudi Arabia you f**king dork”. This came after The Miz took a small jab at Punk’s first appearance on ‘WWE Backstage’.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer spoke about the backstage reaction to these comments.
Here is what Meltzer wrote about the reaction from WWE and FOX:
“While people were critical, it didn’t result in a reaction by FOX or WWE over the idea that someone on their show made a homophobic remark and then trying to force an apology. Really, it wasn’t that big of a reaction, but there was a reaction.”
My Take:
- Punk must have been holding in some resentment towards The Miz for a while now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is mad that The Miz main evented a Wrestlemania before he did. That is pure speculation from me though.
