Two of the biggest call-ups from NXT during the Superstar Shake-Up were SANITY and the Authors of Pain. The Authors Of Pain have appeared a few times but have mostly been wrestling on WWE main event over the past few weeks. SANITY hasn’t appeared yet on Smackdown Live and we have only seen vignettes for them.
So what is going on?
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Live (subscribe here), the reason why they both haven’t been used is because the company doesn’t have any creative direction for them at the moment. It appears as if they were called up without a plan. Here is a quote from Meltzer: (via Still Real To Us):
“They’re around, [AOP] and SAnitY they got brought up and remember the idea that ‘we’re not going to bring anyone up unless we have ideas for them? Well, they brought them up and now they have no ideas for them,”
Hopefully, both groups start being used as they are great additions to their brands. We will have to wait and see what happens though.
