The December 18th episode of NXT will feature an NXT Championship match between Adam Cole and Finn Balor. This comes after Balor defeated Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa to become the number one contender.
I wanted to share my theory with you about what I think will happen during the match between Balor and Cole.
I have a feeling that the match between Cole and Balor is going to feature some interference. Not from the Undisputed Era like usual though. My theory is that Johnny Gargano is going to interfere and attack Balor.
Gargano has been out with a neck injury but Triple H recently hinted that he could be back soon. This would be a perfect spot for Gargano to return to reignite his feud with Balor. They were involved in a heated rivalry before Gargano got hurt, so it would make sense for Gargano to cost Balor his NXT Title match. Plus, this would be a screwy finish, which saves a rematch between Cole and Balor for a future Takeover special.
This would allow Adam Cole to continue feuding with Tommaso Ciampa and/or Keith Lee. It would also set us up for Balor vs Gargano, which is a match that we all still want to see.
That is my theory on what will happen. This would obviously require Gargano to be healthy, so my fingers are crossed.
