Nikki Cross won the beat the clock challenge on RAW this week against Bayley. As a result, she was able to pick the stipulation for the Smackdown Women’s Title match at Extreme Rules between Bayley and Alexa Bliss.
Cross ended up changing it to a 2 on 1 handicap match. It will now be Cross and Bliss vs Bayley.
I wanted to pass along my theory on what I think will happen in this match.
The popular fan theory after this segment was that this could lead to the return of Sasha Banks. Nikki asked Bayley to “find herself a partner”, which many fans took as a potential hint about Sasha. I do think that Sasha will return to help Bayley retain her Title. While saying that, I think that it could go a step further.
I think that after Sasha helps Bayley retain, she will end up turning on her. This will set us into motion for Sasha vs Bayley at Summerslam for the Smackdown Women’s Title.
It would make a ton of sense to book it this way. The storyline would be that Sasha is jealous of the success that Bayley is having without her. This would give WWE a great Women’s storyline heading into Summerslam. It would also give us heel Sasha, which I think would be best for her right now.
At the very least, I expect Sasha to help out Bayley on Sunday night. I also think that we could see a heel turn if she does return.
