11 Things That We Learned From Smackdown Live (January 16, 2018)

1) The U.S Title Tournament Finals Was Bumped From The Royal Rumble PPV Card

Smackdown Live this week kicked off with Xavier Woods and the New Day. Tom Phillips confirmed that the United States Tournament finals had been removed from the Royal Rumble PPV.

The finals were originally scheduled for the Royal Rumble but it got bumped off the card. As we saw later in the show, WWE decided to finish the tournament this week.

2) Jinder Mahal Advanced To The U.S Title Tournament Finals

The first match of the night was a part of the U.S Title tournament. Jinder Mahal took on Xavier Woods. The winner earned themselves a spot in the finals.

The match was won by Jinder, who hit the Khallas for the victory.

3) Jinder’s ‘Khallas’ Looked Nasty

Jinder won the match with his finishing move: ‘the Khallas’. I thought that the move looked really good against the smaller Woods. The move was also sold really well by Xavier.

Say what you want about Jinder but I think his finishing move is solid and looks nasty if he hits it right.
