Triple H Admits That He Is Not Happy With Where NXT Is Right Now

Triple H recently participated in a media call prior to NXT Takeover: San Antonio. During the call he spoke on a wide variety of topics about the current state of WWE. One of the most interesting parts of the call was when he admitted that he wasn’t happy with where NXT is right now.

Due to the WWE brand split, NXT lost a lot of talent over the past several months. Triple H admits that he isn’t happy with where NXT currently is and says that they are ‘rebuilding’:

“I’m not happy with where it is right now by far. I want it to be much better than it is, but it’s a rebuilding process. All these things going on, they all make changes in the ecosystem. Where everything lands at the end of the day is a moving target”

He also mentions that he is hoping to make some changes to NXT to improve the show:

“There are some things and some changes that I’m hopeful will happen sooner than later that will expand it and make the show better”

Our take: I think NXT Takeover: San Antonio is one of the more underwhelming NXT Takeover events so far. It still should be great but Triple H is right and the brand split took a good chunk out of them. That is a sign that developmental is working so I don’t think Triple H can be too upset. Other guys need to step up and make the product into must-watch TV again.

  1. Well duh. They literally became Raw 2.0
They are trying to protect way too many people at the same time and not giving newer talent enough chances. One of the charms of NXT used to be was how the product was always fresh. You had amazing feud after amazing with all different people.

Then we got what? Like 6 Finn Balor vs Samoa Joe matches and Balor ended up dropping at a live event??? Rinse and repeat with Nakamura and Joe? Asuka is the longest reigning champion and has had 3 unique challangers so far? I feel like Tye Dillinger had a match at almost every Takeover event and lost every single one of them?? It’s things like this that make the fans bored of the product. You would think the call ups would actually help freshen things up, but absolutely not, they continued to do the exact same thing. And it’s actually frustrating that Papa H has no clue what the problem is, but it’s a good thing that at least he is trying, I guess.
