Triple H Calls The People’s Elbow The “Hokiest Looking Move Ever.”

Triple H was recently interviewed by BBC Radio 1.  One of the topics of conversation was about the Rock’s signature move: The People’s Elbow. Triple H told the story about Mick Foley convincing the Rock to try the move on television after he used it at a few live events.

As we know now, the move would go on to become something that the Rock is very well-known for.

Triple H would go on to say that he loved working with the Rock. He did joke during the interview that it is “the hokiest looking move ever”.

Here is how he explained it:

“You’ve gotta wait for like 20 minutes while he takes his elbow pad off and works the crowd. He runs back and forth, then he comes up and drops an elbow on you that looks like it barely touches you, except that a lot of times the point of his elbow hits you right in the mouth and you come up bleeding and you’re like, ‘how can you bust me open on that?’ It’s also so funny that you’re running away to the bank with it.”

He is right. The move doesn’t make much sense psychology wise but the Rock made it a lot of fun.
