Triple H Responds To Criticism That There Is Too Much WWE Content To Watch

Newsweek.com recently interviewed Triple H after the press conference announcing the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. The tournament will be featured on the WWE Network and will be leading to a weekly show featuring UK talent.

During the interview, Triple H spoke about criticism that WWE offers too much content on a week-to-week basis for viewers to consume. Here is what he said:

“It’s funny when people say “there’s too much content, I can’t watch all of it.” A lot of movies come out; I can’t watch all of them, I catch up with them down the line”

He continued:

“What’s great about WWE and the Network is the variety; Raw and SmackDown are like the pop music charts—the product everyone generally loves, the catchall. Separate from that, NXT and 205 Live , and hopefully the U.K. Championship, whatever that becomes, you begin to find the niche that you like best. That variety makes it great. At the end of the day, it’s all sitting on the WWE Network”

I think WWE is playing it smart. Sure there is a ton of content to consume but that is a good thing! You get to choose what you want to follow along with and what you skip. I do understand people saying quality over quantity but I think all of the new stuff has more positives than negatives. If I don’t want to watch this new show, I can certainly skip it, same with NXT or 205 Live.

Let us know what you think!

  1. it is a lot, but its certainly not all-consuming. everything in moderation, including moderation. I DVR raw and SD, and skip through the commercials & stuff that doesn’t interest me. in saying that, I mostly tune in about 9 on most nights that way I can skip around. in doing so, I pretty much cut the time in half or more.

right now, I don’t think 205 live interests me. I think had they done a pre-taped show like the CWC or NXT in a small, intimate setting like full sail, I would be more inclined to check it out. but in its current state, it just seems like a show thrown together just to get paid talent on TV or something to do.

to me, these little gimmicky shows are simply to attract the IWC who loves the guys who put on “great matches”. its just another outlet to reach those would-be subscribers.
