Triple H recently was interviewed by The LAD Bible prior to the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. During the interview, he was asked about a topic that is widely discussed among wrestling fans in the United Kingdom…. Why can’t they host a Wrestlemania or even a big event like Summerslam?

Here is what Triple H had to say in the interview about Wrestlemania or Summerslam possibly coming to the UK:
He says that:
“I think it is closer now to happening than it has ever been before. People can’t understand the massive undertaking that it is to take something like Wrestlemania with its week-long series of events and everything that we do and move it to another country”
He says that years of planning goes into a Wrestlemania and it is very difficult. Due to the rise of the WWE Network, the possibility of a UK Wrestlemania is closer than it has ever been in a long time. This is because the Network allows fans from all over the globe to watch at the same time.

The UK Championship Tournament will be a good first-step to see what works and what doesn’t since it will be broadcast in the afternoon (in the U.S). NXT previously ran a Takeover event in London and was successful. The tournament will be another feeling out process for potential projects in the UK and seeing what works.
He says that there is so much more than just flying the talent to the location that goes into a Wrestlemania. This will be a part of the feeling out process to see if WWE can make it happen in the future.

At least there is some hope for wrestling fans in the United Kingdom. Maybe in a few years WWE will make the trip overseas to the UK. I assume the crowd would be electric!
