Triple H Shares The Story Of Having To Tell A Female Talent That She Couldn’t Compete In The Mae Young Classic

The Mae Young Classic tournament is officially in the history books. The tournament was won by Kairi Sane and featured 32 female competitors.

Triple H was recently a guest on Uproxx’s: McMahonsplaining podcast. Triple H shared the story of him having to tell a female talent that she wouldn’t be able to compete in the tournament.

He doesn’t directly name her, but mentions she has been at the WWE Performance Center for a while, so we can assume she is a contracted talent.

Here is what he said:

She’s kind of always been on this cusp and the timing has always wrongAnd I had to go to her, and I wanted to do it personally because I felt like I owed it to her, to say, ‘I can’t put you in the tournament. You should be in the tournament, but I don’t have the spot for you.’ To watch her fight the tears and the ultimate disappointment of that, it’s tough, man. That’s a hard thing to do. But you’ve got to keep in mind that you want the opportunity to be the biggest it can across the platform.”
