Update On The Rumors Of The Revival Leaving WWE

Some interesting news about the Revival started to circulate on Wednesday. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that there was ‘fear’ within WWE that the Revival wanted out of the company. Bodyslam.net reported that the talented tag team had straight up asked to be released.

We have some updates on the Revival to pass your way.

These updates come from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here) and Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

Meltzer and Johnson both say that the Revival did ask for their releases from the company. Meltzer adds that their request came right after they defeated Lucha House Party on RAW.

The expectation right now is that the Revival won’t be granted their release. Meltzer says that nobody who asks for their release right now is expected to be granted it.

Johnson says that the Revival are still currently planned for live events this weekend. We will let you know if anything changes.

My Take: It is definitely going to be interesting to see what happens. I could see the company giving the Revival a strong push. There is no doubt in my mind that WWE doesn’t want to lose them. Not only are they a great tag team, but there is also a money feud lined up for them in AEW with the Young Bucks. My guess is that WWE will improve their booking over the next few weeks in an attempt to keep them happy.
