Update On WWE’s Plans For Edge After His Return At The Royal Rumble

The 2020 Royal Rumble PPV featured a major surprise. Edge returned to the ring for the first time since being forced to retire in 2011. The crowd went bonkers and Edge ended up making it to the final 3 in the men’s Royal Rumble match.

We have an update for you on WWE’s plans for Edge after his return.

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, this was not just a one-off appearance by Edge. WWE is planning to use Edge as a special attraction moving forward. Here is what Johnson wrote:

We are told Edge will be working some special events going forward but he’s not likely be wrestling on a weekly basis.  He’s going to be used as a special attraction, as he should be.

@Wrestlevotes is also saying that Edge has signed a new 3-year contract with WWE:

Update #1: According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Edge is currently scheduled to face Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 36.

Update #2: Edge has now been added to the active roster list on WWE’s website. His brand has not been specified yet:

In other words, it sounds like we are in for more big matches from Edge, which is great news.
