RAW and Smackdown LIVE both have gotten off to solid starts so far after the brand split. The one problem that fans have been noticing though is that RAW seems to have the advantage in every area. More members of their roster, Tag Team and Women’s Championships exclusively on RAW and even a RAW exclusive Cruiserweight division coming soon. Not to mention they are a 3 hour show each week compared to Smackdown Live’s 2 hours. Clearly Smackdown LIVE is in need of something to help even up the odds and it looks like that could be happening.

According to Dave Meltzer on the recent Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription required but recommended), Smackdown live is getting some new hardware. He says that Smackdown Live will likely be getting a new Women’s Championship along with a tag team title exclusively for the Smackdown LIVE brand. The report doesn’t say when the titles will be announced, just that Smackdown LIVE is building towards it and they will be announced soon.

This means that the WWE will likely introduce a lot of new talent in the upcoming weeks to help fill out the Women’s and tag team divisions.
